    We celebrate 40 years of dedication to health through natural medicine at IPIFA!
    Our passion for natural medicine began with our founder, Salesian Father Edmundo Szeliga ❤️, who dedicated his life to supporting thousands of people as well as supporting jungle communities.After founding the institute in Lima in 1983, Father Szeliga led the research and application of natural medicine for the well-being of all.
    Throughout these 40 years, we have acquired a vast experience and knowledge in the treatment of diseases and ailments through medicinal plants, which allows us to provide quality and effective care. Our trajectory is backed by the satisfaction of our patients who have found in us a safe and effective alternative to conventional treatments.

    Father Edmundo's discoveries were reflected in the success he had in curing cancer and other diseases in patients particularly in the capital. "During my stays in the capital, I began to help sick people, mainly cancer patients, who, being reluctant or resistant to chemotherapy or radiotherapy, came in search of possible alternatives. I did it privately, as an exercise of charity, trying to imitate the great sensitivity that Christ showed to the sick. This is how I began to prove the favorable effects of both Uncaria species in several surprising cases" (Edmundo Szeliga).

    In 1983, the priest also gave talks on natural medicine in the Jesús Obrero parish in Surquillo, from which a booklet on natural medicine was produced, which you can download here. download free of charge. That same year, here in Lima, a Spanish patient who had received cancer treatment in the United States was surprised by the favorable results of the treatment that Father Edmundo Szeliga provided. He proposed to institutionalize the herbal treatment service that Father Szeliga offered on an individual and private basis. Thus it was that between April and May of 1983 the National Institute of Andean Phytotherapic Research.

    Dear Brothers and Sisters:

    I, Edmundo Szeliga Kozik, sdb, projecting myself into the future given my advanced age, have considered it appropriate to record my special contribution and support to the Peruvian Institute of Andean Phytotherapy Research (IPIFA), in my capacity as founder and promoter of this private, non-profit entity, which has been legally operating in Lima, uninterruptedly, since 1983, providing personalized health services by competent licensed physicians, with several tens of thousands of patients - both local and foreign - who have been treated.

    Therefore, I pray for the continuity of IPIFA's spirit of service of the charism that I have tried to transmit to it, while blessing each and every one of its members who have made possible the validity and development of its institutional goals and with whom I will continue to collaborate, with the due authorization of my religious superiors, as long as the Lord and my health conditions allow it.
